This current state of the MMOG business models involves having multiple distinct business actors merged within a single game company and it is due to the fact that there exist no viable methods of outsourcing MMOG operation to other companies. There is no widely accepted method of comprehensively translating the rather subjective quality of game play experience into concrete business terms which could allow business contracts for MMOG operation to be drafted. The second main contributing factor to this state of the MMOG market is the high initial investment a new joining company has to make with purchasing and running the necessary data centres. Resource providing companies cannot seamlessly undertake the task of MMOG operation as there is no available mapping of the metrics characterising the proper operation of the MMOG applications and their contract terms which deal mostly with the hardware characteristics of the provided resources.
